Author Information

Mike Covell is a Hull-based local historian who specialises in the darker side of his home cities' history. Since 2006, Mike has researched, written about, blogged, tweeted, and lectured on all aspects of Hull's history. He has lectured at the Hull History Centre, The Hull Heritage Centre, at the Ghost Club in London, and at the 2010 Jack the Ripper conference. He has assisted on and acted as historical advisor on several television shows, radio shows, podcasts, magazine articles, books, and other projects. He was the first Brit to appear on the Rippercast Podcasts and Ripper Radio and his Jack the Ripper blog has views from across the globe.
