A former children's librarian, she earned her MFA in Creative Writing & Media Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She writes about the dreams and difficulties of girlhood, the folklore of her region, and the complexities of rural life. She's still on the lookout for faeries. A former resident performer with the California Theatre Center, she has dubbed live-action shows, voiced characters for cartoons, and narrated numerous audiobook titles. Alan Carlson is a professional audiobook narrator with a background in radio. He enjoys performing multiple genres, including true crime, mystery, and literary fiction.
