Author Information

Linda Ayers has been a bookmobile librarian, a teacher, an author, and an elementary school teacher-librarian. She has written professional books as well as children's poetry and fiction. She enjoys reading to the children in her elementary school library, where she is known for bringing her guitar to story time. Katy Hudson won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Best Book Award Gold in 2014 for her illustrations in the book Animal Teachers. Her debut picture book, Bear and Duck, received strong reviews, including a starred review from Kirkus. Katy is the author of the best-selling picture books Too Many Carrots and A Loud Winter's Nap, which both received numerous positive reviews. Katy lives in London. Nicola O'Byrne was born in Swaziland and has lived in Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Kenya and Edinburgh. Her mother teaches physics at an international school, and her father is an orchid specialist and author. She even has an orchid named after her! She studied illustration at Edinburgh College of Art where she received a First Class Degree. Nicky now lives in London where she does freelance illustration and studies printmaking. Her illustrations are often based on real locations and people she has observed. When she's not drawing, she enjoys swimming, baking, and watching movies.
