She graduated from Kingston University in July 2014 where she found a specialism in picture book illustration. Her work combines vibrant colours with lots of detail and many different, quirky characters. Her love of nature and greenery can be seen in her illustrations of foliage which accompany much of her work. Patricia Hegarty is currently the Editorial Director of Caterpillar Books and has written about all kinds of things from trees and bees to ABCs (and she loves to rhyme).
