Overview"Angels in Training is a sweet little lesson in God's grace. We sometimes need to be reminded that perfection is only found in our Lord. While we want to encourage children to always do their best, it is important to remember that we are all in need of God's grace. In this story, we learn a little more about the character of Faith, a young guardian angel, still learning to fly. You may remember Faith from the pages of ""Hope Shines Bright,"" a book about a little dull star that ends up shining over the stable in Bethlehem and Jesus Christ, our baby Savior. Faith wants very much to do things just as they should be done, and especially desires to be neat and tidy as she sees her little angel friends are. She tends to have one problem. She is easily distracted by the world around her. Before she knows it, she is having the time of her life, sliding down rainbows and climbing trees in St. Peter's garden. Afterwards, she realizes she's late for class and a crumpled mess. Timing is everything. Our friend needs to learn to stop and think. ""Have a plan a think things through,"" her friend Gabe would tell her. There's nothing wrong with having fun! But, Faith needs to learn to be a little more thoughtful about what she does and when. Her wings and angel status are a gift from God and meant to be cared for with a bit more responsibility. When she finds herself bent and bruised she feels the need for change and is beginning to realize the importance of repentance and forgiveness in helping take away the weight of her regret for taking her gifts for granted. Mrs. Flyright, her angel flying instructor, is instrumental in helping her learn this valuable lesson. Faith also finds a great deal of help in her angel friends. Faith's friends are darling and each comes with their own special personality. They are easy to fall in love with as they cheer their little friend Faith along. You are sure to enjoy sharing this little story with your children and grandchildren, enjoying the colorful illustrations while finding some food for thought along the way. What a blessing you bestow on a child as you read together. Hearts and minds connect as we enjoy reading together, important at any age, but especially in the life and development of a small child. God bless your time together."
