The entire piano-vocal score of the acclaimed opera, Angel of the Amazon by Evan Mack. In 2005, Dorothy Stang, a 73-year-old Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, from Dayton, Ohio was brutally murderedin the town of Boa Esperanza, located in the Brazilian rainforest. Paid by the owner of a logging company, two gunmen shot Dorothy six times as she read the Beatitudes. Angel of the Amazon depicts her life's work, her devotion to her mission with Brazilian peasant farmers, and the events that sent her on a path of martyrdom.

Evan Mack is the composer and librettist of Angel of the Amazon which premiered in May 2011 by Encompass New Opera Theatre at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York City and has been released worldwide by Albany Records.His second opera, The Secret of Luca, has been workshopped across the country and was premiered by Fresno State Opera Theatre in 2014. He is currently published with Hal Leonard and Alfred. Mack's newest opera is an adaptation of the best-selling novel, Roscoe, by Pulitzer Prize-winning author William Kennedy. His micro-operas have received numerous performances. Beach and Moan, won Atlanta Opera's 24-hour Opera Project in 2013 and #IsOperaDead-the first opera for Twitter, premiered in 2015. Evan was a composing fellow at the John Duffy Composers Institute and a resident artist at Yaddo. As an acclaimed pianist, he has toured all over the United States, Barcelona, and South Africa as a champion of American Piano Music. Evan holds a B.Mus from Vanderbilt University and a M.M and DMA in Piano Performance from the University of Cincinnati's College- Conservatory of Music.
