Raised an evolutionist, Maureen felt awe about all things in nature. At an early age, dolls and tea sets were left behind to explore surrounding woods and creek. When a young adult, she moved to North Idaho to live in a log cabin without electricity or running water in order to fully immerse herself in a natural lifestyle. During this Thoreau-inspired journey, she read the Genesis story for the first time and was struck by the simplicity of creation. For her, the birth of mankind directly - as opposed to indirectly - by a Divine Being resonated as a more logical truth. It is this connection between humans and God, science and religion, flesh and spirit that Maureen shares in her study of ancient knowledge and modern discoveries.
