Professor Chandra Kumar is a consultant anaesthetist based in the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, UK. His special interests include elderly anaesthesia, colorectal anaesthesia, upper gastrointestinal tract, ophthalmic anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, gynaecology and dental anaesthesia. He has edited four books and published widely in journals on various topics in anaesthesia. Doctor Frédérique S. Servin is a consultant anaesthetist based in the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Bichat-Claude Bernard, AP-HP, Paris, France.
