Jonathan is the founder of communication-focused therapy (CFT). He has studied psychotherapy and counselling for the last fourteen years. He also has over six years of specialist training in general psychiatry and two years of specialist training in forensic psychiatry. His practice focus is on psychotherapy and psychiatric medication, about which he has written a number of articles and books. He is a member of the American and German psychiatric associations and chairs a peer review group on advanced strategies in psychotherapy in Dublin. He holds diplomas in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and in psychopharmacology with distinction. Jonathan graduated from medical school in 2002. After completing his doctoral thesis in molecular biology he began his training in psychiatry and psychotherapy in Switzerland. Jonathan completed his theoretical studies in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the University of Zurich in the advanced studies in psychotherapy program, while deepening his psychotherapeutic tool-set through seminars and continuing education in CBT, systemic psychotherapy and group therapy. He has also completed a training analysis and worked with various supervisors in Europe. Jonathan began working as a psychotherapist in 2002 and has since worked in different settings, including a crisis intervention center, psychiatric hospitals, an outpatient clinic for integrative psychotherapy and in private practice. He has worked with individuals, groups and also conducted sessions online. Jonathan has been very interested in the interface between healthcare and law and economics, as he believes that society as a whole can benefit immensely from better access to psychotherapy. He holds diplomas in law and legal practice and a master in international law from the College of Law of England and Wales and a master in management from Harvard University.
