OverviewThis book is written as a platform to explore key aspects of fluid dynamics, focusing on boundary conditions for vorticity at the interface between two phases, based on new findings. First, the angular momentum of a fluid within a conceptual volume V is expressed using the spatial distribution of vorticity, newly defined as the rotation of the momentum vector. Second, the normal component of vorticity is fully transferred between phases due to shear forces acting at the interface. Third, the transfer of tangential vorticity components is completely restricted; creeping flow solutions for both surrounding and inner fluids are obtained for a spherical particle in shear flow. Fourth, a ""fluffy and slippery"" solution of Saffman's equation for the first-order inner expansion is derived. Finally, the combination of creeping flow and this solution is shown to be physically consistent near the particle surface. Based on this, surface forces, horizontal migration velocity, and lift coefficient are obtained as explicit functions.
