Author Information

Ian Nisbet had a normal British upbringing, however, while at university in London, he decided to convert to Islam. His thinking had changed and so did his way of life. Not everyone was happy with his new ideas. Ian moved with his family to Cairo to study Arabic, then on 1st May 2002 Ian was taken by Egyptian State Security police from his flat in Cairo to an underground torture facility. He would ultimately be sentenced to five years imprisonment for the ideas that he held. His time as a political prisoner has been documented in his first published book Mubarak's Mazra'a. Ian was released in 2006 and now lives in London with his wife and two children.
