OverviewAlfred North Whitehead, an English mathematician. Best known as the defining person of the philosophical school identified as process philosophy, that has found demand in a wide variety of disciplines, including ecology, physics, economics, theology, education, biology, and psychology, amongst other areas. In his early career, A. N. Whitehead formulated primarily on mathematics, logic, and physics. His most distinguished work in these sectors is the 3 volume Principia Mathematica that he wrote together with his former student Bertrand Russell. Principia Mathematica is thought one of the twentieth century's most significant achievements in mathematical logic and is placed 23rd in a list of the top 100 nonfiction books of the century by Modern Library. Today Whitehead's works - particularly Process and Reality - are viewed as the foundational texts of process philosophy. His process view claims that there is urgency in coming to see the world as a web of interrelated processes of that we are integral parts so that all of our decisions and actions have outcomes for the world around us. For this reason, one of the most promising applications of Whitehead's views in recent years has been in the field of ecological civilization and environmental ethics pioneered by John B. Cobb, Jr. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Alfred North WhiteheadPublisher: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform Imprint: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform Dimensions: Width: 15.20cm , Height: 1.30cm , Length: 22.90cm Weight: 0.327kg ISBN: 9781548121518ISBN 10: 1548121517 Publication Date: 15 June 2017 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: Available To Order ![]() We have confirmation that this item is in stock with the supplier.
