Overview

Shiva Sutras, an important text of the Trika Shaivism. Kashmir Shaivite tradition focuses on Pratyabhijna which means recognition through direct realization. One story says that Shiva appeared to Acharya Vasu Gupta, in his dream and recited it to him and he had written it down. Vasu Gupta also wrote the Spanda Karikas as a commentary on the Shiva Sutras.
