OverviewThis interesting manuscript, providing a commentary on the imagery in Nicolas Flamel's Book of Hieroglyphic Figures, is in the Caprara collection in the library of the University of Bologna in Italy. Its author was Monsieur Dupuits, of whom almost nothing is known, and this could be a pseudonym for an, as yet, unidentified individual. It was written during the early 17th century, not long after the printed account of the Flamel legend was published in 1612. Dupuits analyses the imagery contained within Flamel's text in a quite detailed way.
