Derrick Matthew Buchanan is a Canadian Neuroscientist, Business Owner, and Comedian from Ottawa, Ontario. He has a PhD in Neuroscience from Carleton University, a Bachelor of Cognitive Science with a Specialization in Cognition and Psychology, and has also obtained certificates from McGill Montreal Neurological Institute, and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Buchanan also completed a PhD fellowship at the University of Geneva Switzerland and has been the recipient of many prestigious academic and research awards. His research applications are primarily focused on the use of neuroimaging, brain stimulation, brain computer interfaces, and machine learning to improve the classification and treatment of mental health and neurological diseases. As a clinical neuroscientist he has authored dozens of scientific publications and academic essays. Dr. Buchanan is the Founder and CEO of CanadaNeuro Inc, a clinical research institute for mental health and neurological diseases. He is also an avid consumer of physics and enlightenment literature including ancient and modern teachings from science and mathematics to philosophy and religion. Dr. Buchanan is also an avid consumer of all varieties of live and recorded art, music, theatre, magic, and comedy. Ultimately he is a person who lives to see ideas come to life. He says that taking ideas from your brain and consciousness and manifesting them into reality is one of the fundamental reasons for living.
