Overview

In 1792, William Carey wrote and published a manuscript that became known as his Enquiry. He then goes on to review various attempts to convert people throughout the world to Christianity, provides a survey of the world's countries containing statistical information such as religious preferences and populations, delivers an argument for sending missionaries throughout the world, and defends the idea of Christians promoting missionaries' efforts.

William Carey (1761-1834) was an English Baptist missionary and a Particular Baptist minister, known as the father of modern missions. He was one of the founders of the Baptist Missionary Society. As a missionary in the Danish colony of Serampore, India, he translated the Bible into Bengali, Sanskrit, and numerous other languages. David Cochran Heath is a professional actor with more than 30 years of experience on the stage in over 130 productions. He is also a lifelong fan of radio theater and has done a variety of narration and character work. He lives in San Diego with his wife, Beth.
