OverviewThis book was designed and developed by The Church Society (the Church of England's leading evangelical society,) as a contribution to the ongoing liturgical debate within the Church of England and the Anglican Communion. It draws on the existing riches of the ""B1662 Book of Common Prayer"" and adapts these into contemporary language. Additional material is also included, based on a variety of sources, with some original material; of particular note is a section on family worship. An English Prayer Book is not designed to replace either the Book of Common Prayer or the Alternative Service Book , but offers additional resource material for parishes. It is also intended that future liturgical work within the Church of England can draw on this material.
