Hi, my name is Valerie. I am a single mother of two older children and the proud caretaker of three cats. I work as a support staff substitute and reading tutor for the Tillamook School District, as well as a home care worker, roles that keep me busy and grounded. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, creating art, and visiting the beach-places where I find inspiration and peace. I've been writing poetry for years, using it as a way to express myself and reflect on life. I'm also a student at the University of Phoenix, working toward my bachelor's degree in English. Recently, I completed a conversational Spanish course, which has been a rewarding challenge and a step toward broadening my skills. Through all these experiences, writing poetry has remained my constant-a way to capture moments, emotions, and stories that matter most to me.
