Bill Wallace...reads with emotion as befits the writing. He pronounces Indian words and locations clearly and with facility. -- AudioFile For the inner world of a man held as a criminal by the British, a hero by Muslims, and a holy man by Hindus, look no further than these experiments. -- Amazon.com, editorial review

Author Information

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948) was the preeminent political and spiritual leader of India during the movement to free India from British rule. He was the pioneer of satyagraha, resistance to tyranny through mass civil disobedience, a philosophy founded upon total nonviolence, which led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. Bill Wallace has recorded hundreds of books for the National Library Service's Talking Books Program for the blind and physically handicapped under the auspices of the Library of Congress. He won the Alexander Scourby Narrator of the Year Award for Nonfiction in 2001 and the Canadian Torgi Talking Book of the Year Award in 1996 and again in 2003. He was nominated for an Audie(R) Award in 1998.
