Overview

54 pages of In depth guide on raising the awareness of the Monarch Butterfly and creating beautiful butterfly gardens. Monarchs have rapidly become my true passion in life, and now I want to share it with children and educators. I'm hoping this will ignite a passion for Monarchs in others too, and ultimately save this beautiful species from extinction.

Reviews

An educational guide on monarch butterflies is the most amazing book possible with an impressive amount of up-to-date information on the monarch backed up by myriad illustrations, countless activities for all age groups and overall positive messages on what the reader can do to look after monarch caterpillars and monarch populations in their area. The passion for nature, and in particular the monarch, that Maria possesses shine through on every page and the book is impossible to put down. In fact my first copy of the book was stolen by a friend who couldn't live without it! Brian Patrick - Biodiversity Advisor

Author Information

Maria Romero is originally from East London (UK), and has lived in New Zealand since 2000. She's the driving force of The Butterfly Musketeers. Seen through children's eyes, she believes that monarch butterflies are special creatures and she is a passionate advocate for their conservation. She loves giving talks around New Zealand teaching children and adults about these beautiful butterflies, so they can learn how to nurture and preserve them for the enjoyment of future generations in the face of growing threats to their survival. Maria is also the founder of Project swan plant ensuring each spring that thousands of swan plant seedlings are sown from seed at schools and volunteering her time, educating on the importance of being prepared for the summer, and having enough food available for the very hungry caterpillars.
