OverviewHerman Fictuld's dream allegory found in his 1750 book 'Hermetic Victoria' is a very amusing dialogue in which Hermaphrodite puts himself forward as the prima material of the Philosophers' Stone. Hermaphrodite is challenged by the planetary gods, particularly Jupiter. Their interactions are very amusing as they trade insults. The format of a narrative dialogue allows Fictuld to air the various opinions about the Prima Materia of the Philosophers' Stone, that were current in the Eighteenth Century.
