An Agony Of Lies

Overview

""A smart, gritty read"" - from L. Peterson ""I’m really hooked on this series. It is so good, entertaining, suspenseful with twist. Joe Talon’s books are hard to put down."" - from M. Janssens A call from an old friend fills Dale Valentine with dread the moment it ends. His past is coming to Glastonbury, and he’s not sure if he’s ready. As a professional investigator, he knows ex-convicts are rarely truthful if a lie keeps them out of trouble. This one is driven by panic. After all, what happens to hackers who discover government ministers are lying? Rarely anything good. As paranoia seeps through the rural town, Dale needs to uncover the real power behind the throne. A solar farm’s links to the politician weave a path through the ancient landscape to foreign powers that fill him with dread. When the politician dies, the lies start to fall apart and Dale finds himself at the heart of a dangerous game. Can Dale and one jaded police officer, save Glastonbury and a disreputable hacker, from big business corruption and greed? And if he can’t, who will become the sacrifice?

Author Information

Joe Talon is an author used to walking in a place where you're never quite certain if the world is full of rainbows or shadows. Real life holds little interest. Having grown up on Exmoor, Joe has been fascinated by the mysterious and spooky places that dwell in the dark woodlands and quiet combes. In Joe's first series, the world is a little sideways from ours. It is full of shapes moving on the edge of our vision when they shouldn’t and cold spots in warm places. For Joe, there is always the question, 'what would I do if'? When writing crime, Joe tangles with gangsters and dealers, murderers and thieves, all in the small town of Glastonbury. A place known for its otherness. Joe's Cornish adventures once more explore the supernatural blending with real world events. If you would like to know more, do come and join the Taloneers. You can easily find Joe in the usual haunts of writers, (I'm not allowed to give you my digital address). There are all kinds of mysteries and fun to be had. What spare time Joe has is spent with seven dogs, lots of walks, chaotic gardening, and exploring the strange worlds just the other side of what we think we know to be real. Who needs real life when there are books!
