Author Information

Agustin Valera-Medina is a professor at Cardiff University, UK. Prior positions include researcher posts at the National Council of Science and Technology, and the Materials Science Institute of the National University of Mexico. His research focus is on combustion dynamics and thermofluids, in particular for energy applications. His awards include the Innovation Award and Sustainable Awards of the South Wales Energy Institute. Yuyang Li is a professor at the Institute of Aerospace Propulsion at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Earlier positions include a post at the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science. His research concentrates on reaction kinetics and flames for energy transformation in power machinery. He was awarded, among others, two Energy and Fuels Rising Star from Energy and Fuels, and a Research Excellence Award from the Combustion Institute. Hao Shi is a research associate at Darmstadt TU, Germany. His research is centered on optical and laser diagnostics for combustion characteristics of fuels, including particle image velocimetry, laser-induced fluorescence, and tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy, to investigate the spray, flame, and its interaction with the turbulent flow field, the wall, and the composition of the mixture and exhaust. Dongsheng Dong is an assistant professor at Wuhan University of Technology, China. He currently works at Dalian University of Technology. His research focus includes pollutants formation, ammonia dual-fuel combustion, effects of hydrogen, multi-objective optimization of a methanol-diesel dual-fuel engine, and chemical reaction network analysis. Mara de Joannon is a research director at the Istituto di Scienze e Tecnologie per l'Energia e la Mobilità Sostenibile of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Italy. Her scientific interests include the study of advanced combustion processes and the use of new energy carriers. She is a member of Board of Director (2020-2026) and a fellow of the Combustion Institute, and an editorial board member of ISI Journals Combustion and Flame and Proceedings of the Combustion Institute. Daria Bellotti is a researcher with the Thermochemical Power Group (TPG) at the University of Genoa, Italy. She focuses on electric power, optimization and control problems, fuel cell systems, and innovative methods for the storage of energy from renewable sources.
