The title poem of Amidst the Chilling Storm wasinspired by my father as he was telling me storiesof when he was a shepherd boy fending off thewild storms and chasing the cunning wolves ashe was trying to protect his flock of sheep.The book is a collection of my earliest poems and thepoem Beauty rises above the weeds is inspired by mymother who always instilled in me a nostalgic yet simpleway to reflect beauty I was also inspired by Chuck Norristo write the poem win every fight as he always didwin in all of his martial arts movies.
