OverviewAMERIGO follows the academic journey of Victor Adams, a young American battling leukemia who travels to Nigeria in the 2000s on a quest for what he calls ""indivisible truth."" At the University of Lagos-UNILAG-he encounters a world far more complex than any textbook ever suggested. He meets six Nigerian undergraduates whose ideologies collide, spark, clash, and evolve: Valentine, Magnus, Ruth, Lucas, Lupita, and Hope. Through heated debates-on colonialism, democracy, identity, God, migration, gender, and history-Victor becomes both witness and participant in Africa's contradictions. As he confronts the messy realities of a continent misrepresented by the West and mismanaged by many of its own leaders, his illness worsens. Before the day of a major campus symposium, in the middle of articulating his truth, Victor collapses and later dies.
