He has written three dozen books and recently edited the two-volume Encyclopedia of Recorded Sound. Albin J. Zak, III, Ph.D., earned a doctorate in musicology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and is currently chair of the music department at University at Albany (SUNY).
