American Paladin: Dust Sacrifice

Overview

A graphic novel entry in an all-new contemporary fantasy series by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Larry Correia, creator of Monster Hunter International. Paranormal worlds collide, monsters emerge, and one man stands alone to face them down when no one else will. A Man Who Stands Against the Monsters Mike Spears is a drifter with a gun, a grim code, and a habit of following blood trails no one else will touch. Across the forgotten towns and backroads of the American West, storms roll in from places no map can find-""Sometimes Places,"" where the boundary between worlds wears thin. When those borders weaken, monsters get through. Spears makes sure they don't make it back. Now a girl has gone missing, a lost waif most would write off as expendable. But for Spears, she is someone's daughter, and he isn't writing anything off. The trail leads to a dying town, a masked killer, and a door that shouldn't exist-one that opens into a twisted empire of blood, sacrifice, and ancient, hungry gods. From nationally bestselling author Larry Correia (American Paladin, Monster Hunter International) and artist Alex Wisner (Always With Honor) comes a tale soaked in grit, folklore, gun smoke, and the blood of men and monsters. Welcome to the front line of a hidden war. Hope you brought ammo.

Reviews

“A wildly entertaining real-world vigilante story. Larry Correia knows that entertainment is job one. He never fails to deliver. His people talk like real people talk. The fight scenes are intricately choreographed. Artist Alex Wisner is a bright new talent. Buckle up. It’s a helluva ride.” —Mike Barron, multiple Eisner-award winning author and creator of Marvel’s Punisher, Nexus, and Florida Man “Lighthearted and testosterone-soaked . . . Will delight fans of action horror with elaborate weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, disgusting monsters, and an endless stream of blood and body parts.” —Publishers Weekly “Intense action scenes, evil in horrifying array, good struggling against the darkness, and most of all people—gorgeously flawed human beings faced with gut-wrenching moral choices.” —Jim Butcher “Larry Correia tells the simple truth . . . American citizens are the real first responders.” —Jim Scoutten, Shooting U.S.A. “Part science fiction, part horror, and an absolute blast to read.” —Bookreporter.com “Beautifully drawn and with a story worthy of Larry Correia—which is no accident, since it’s Larry Correia!” —Glenn Reynolds, founder of Instapundit.com, Beauchamp Brogan Distinguished Professor of Law, University of Tennessee “For those hungry for some bone-shattering justice (and who isn’t nowadays?), Larry Correia delivers an electrifying tale that more than satisfies all of us who remember that good is good and evil is evil. The tension ratchets up with each turn of the page until it explodes in righteous judgment. Illustrator Alex Wisner has got the kinetic action of manga with added American grit. Watch out, Wisner’s here to stay.” —Gabriel Eltaeb, publisher Big Man Comics, longtime Dark Horse and DC comics artist

Author Information

Larry Correia was raised on a dairy farm in El Nido, California, where he learned early that hard work, guns, and books all had their place in a well-rounded life. A childhood spent hoisting hay bales, reading everything he could get his hands on, and blasting varmints turned into a life marked by grit and storytelling. He’s been a farmhand, warehouse grunt, accountant, firearms instructor, and gun shop owner before turning to full-time writing. Correia’s stories reflect that same ethos—tough men, hard choices, and no room for flinching. His breakout novel, Monster Hunter International, launched an internationally bestselling series. His fiction blends folklore, firepower, and blue-collar realism with a touch of humor into fast-paced tales in which tough men stand their ground against overwhelming odds. Correia lives in Utah with his family. Alex Wisner is the author and illustrator of the Always With Honor graphic-novel series from Passage Publishing, a historic adventure that transforms Russian General Pyotr Wrangel's anti-Bolshevik memoirs into sweeping visual drama.
