Author Information

Arthur Young (Ph.D., University of Illinois) is Dean of University Libraries, University of Rhode Island. He has published Books for Sammies: The American Library Association and World War I (Beta Phi Mu, 1981) and Higher Education in American Life, 1936-1986: A Bibliography of Dissertations and Theses (Greenwood, 1988). His articles and reviews have appeared in College & Research Libraries, Journal of Library History, Library Quarterly, and Reference Quarterly.
