Thomas Milhorn graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with majors in mathematics and physics. This was followed by a PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a postdoctoral fellowship in biomathematics at North Carolina State University. He subsequently received an MD and completed a family medicine residency program at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He is the author of 13 books, 12 chapters in books, and over 150 research and medical education publications. He is Director of Education for the EC Healthnet Family Medicine Residency Program. Formerly he was Professor of Family Medicine, Professor of Physiology and Biophysics, and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He has over 36 years' experience teaching medical students and family medicine residents. He has also taught nursing students, physician assistant students, fellows in addiction medicine, and PhD candidates in physiology and in biomedical engineering.
