Through her work, she is deeply committed to preserving personal and shared stories, culture, and history. As a Spelman College Glee Club alumna, Sherrie has a personal connection to the college's musical legacy.Sherrie earned a BA in English from Spelman College, as well as a MA in Communication and Journalism and a PhD in Adult Education, both from Auburn University. Dr. Joyce Finch Johnson, Associate of the American Guild of Organists (AAGO), is Professor Emerita of Music and College Organist at Spelman College and a former Chair of the Department of Music. She holds a Master of Music degree and a Doctor of Music in Piano Performance from Northwestern University and studied at Fisk University, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Eastman School of Music. An internationally recognized pianist and organist, she is a member of The International Roster of Steinway Artists and has performed throughout the United States, the Caribbean, South America, and Europe. Kevin Johnson, DMA, is an associate professor of music at Spelman College, where he has been a faculty member since 1999 and serves as director of the renowned Spelman College Glee Club. A respected musician, composer, and clinician, Dr. Johnson has presented choral workshops and master classes throughout the United States and Europe. His compositions have been performed nationally and internationally by church, school, and collegiate ensembles, including notable performances with the Spelman College Glee Club at the White House and abroad. Dr. Johnson is also an active composer for Catholic worship and publishes extensively through his own company, Lion and Lamb Publishing, as well as major music publishers.
