Overview

America appears to be on autopilot as its citizens take democracy for granted wallowing in complacency. Those with wealth have an inner urgency to do anything possible to not only keep that wealth, but to amass more. It appears to be something like a sickness. In relation to the rich, the working middle-class and poor are becoming insignificant. They are becoming collateral damage as a rapidly diminishing Republican political party becomes more and more extreme with the end justifying the means. Money can buy anything, and it does, especially elections! Will Americans do what is necessary to keep our land from becoming a fascist dictatorship as was attempted in 1933 by a U. S. Senator? Does your party represent your beliefs in words, and more importantly, in actions? Do you care?

Charles Frederick Pierce, Sr. was named after his two grandfathers. He resides in Otego, N. Y. along the Susquehanna River about 30 miles south of Cooperstown, where that river originates and flows to the Chesapeake Bay. With coursework at The State University College at Oneonta, N. Y., The College of St. Rose in Albany, and The University of New York at Binghamton, he attained permanent certification in many areas of teaching including All Classes of Special Education. His teaching was periodically interrupted as he had to leave teaching for higher pay at highway construction jobs to catch up on bills and get ahead. At one point, after exporting veneer logs all over the world (Pierces New Horizon Veneer, ) he built and ran a production hardwood sawmill just outside Otego. For over a decade Charlie worked mainly with quality control and safety at a Corning, Inc. disposable plastic lab ware plant in Oneonta. For the first time his income allowed him to purchase a home. Charlie had served his country in The United States Air Force in the nuclear weapons and special weapons fields. For relaxation Charlie plays 6 and 12 string guitars, and writes songs and poetry. He also has ideas for burning water as a fuel, ideas he wants to get out there. At age 70, Charlie is ready to start writing a series of children's books putting up to five books within one cover. Topics will cover a variety of issues children and adults always have facing them in life like deaths of pets and people, lying vs. being honest, being responsible, and having a sense of fair play. Am I a Democrat or a Republican? -An effort to save America, offered by Harmonic Creations Publishing, is his first book written.
