OverviewThe author tells how to handle wandering, confusion, taking away the privilege of driving a car, using dangerous equipment, and many other problems-in a way that is easily understood. She has added two postscripts about things she's learned most recently. It includes a possible horror story of a misdiagnosis, the effect, good and bad, of medications and overmedication. When should you get a diagnosis and begin medications?. How do you find good home care or memory care facilities when they become necessary? These questions are gone over in detail, saving you hours of research. Disease is costly, and the author gives suggestions you should think of in advance. Becoming a loved one's Power of Attorney (POA) is an extremely important step, something many know nothing of. When my husband and I explored Europe three times, I told readers the details of those wonderful experiences. Then one day came the opportunity to write front page articles of the historic World War II USS Missouri battleship when it was moved by powerful tugboats to the mouth of the Columbia River before leaving for its final home in Hawaii. A Navy friend became my technical advisor and photographer, so I was able to please readers who loved the intricate details as well as history buffs. During those years I worked on our family's history, then self-published a 300-page book on museum-quality paper. It includes photos, remembrances by ones now living, and my research of our many ancestors. I composed a delightful story / picture book for kiddies of our two kitties. It is an easy read for excited new readers. And after pouring through a diary of a trip my son and I took to Egypt in 1980, I enjoyed writing about those fascinating days, also with photos. All are Kindle e-books. My most recent is of my husband's dreadful Alzheimer's disease. I discuss the many things I've learned that have helped me so much. It has been a very difficult job, a book I couldn't bring myself to write for a long time. But in the hope I can help caregivers who suffer the same way I do, I discuss things that have been successful-including an additional chapter of newest things I've learned. Now in my later years I have my writing, and I hope to continue with non-fiction as well as fiction. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
