Overview

How can you trust yourself if your thoughts constantly lie to you? That's what thirteen-year-old Imani needs an answer to. She has daily battles with her intrusive thoughts and doesn't know how to stop them. After an incident at church, Imani follows a purple dragonfly she finds in the church's garden that leads her and best friend, Damien, into a kingdom with sunflowers that grow multi-colored and a book hotel that magically brings books to you. But danger lurks nearby. A dark fog is spreading, causing people to fall into a deep, nightmare-inducing sleep. The kingdom's princess urgently requests Imani and Damien's help to defeat the beast responsible for the fog. As Imani grapples with the overwhelming challenge before her, she must choose between succumbing to her intrusive thoughts or stepping up to become the hero she never thought she could be. With Damien by her side, Imani embarks on a quest that promises to save the land and face her biggest enemy - herself.
