Veronica Tawhai (Ngati Porou, Ngati Uepohatu) is a lecturer of Maori development at the School of Maori Studies, Massey University. Her PhD explores political engagement and education in bi-political states and seeks to construct a framework for citizenship education in Aotearoa New Zealand. Katarina Gray-Sharp (Ngati Rangi, Ngati Raukawa, Ngati Kauwhata, Ngati Rangiwewehi) is a kaitautoko Maori at Massey University and is working on her doctorate.
