Author Information

Madeleine Holzer is the Educator-in-Residence at the Academy of American Poets where she writes Teach this Poem, a weekly resource for teachers, as well as other education content for Poets.org. For over twelve years, she served as Educational Development Director and Program Development Director at Lincoln Center Institute for the Arts in Education, where she wrote the Institute's Capacities for Imaginative Learning and other conceptual documents. Her poetry and essays have been published in a number of small print journals and education books, as well as on Poets.org. Amy Bouchard is an illustrator living and working in New England. She creates quirky digital and hand-drawn images in a palette of signature bright colors that are inspired by both pop culture and childlike wonder. Intended for use in children's media, such as home goods, clothing, and books, her whimsical, character-based illustrations are designed to evoke the child in all of us. Her work has been featured in children's books, poster designs and products for children and adults alike. amyebouchard.com
