A new novel by Roberto S�nchez Ruiz where nothing is as it seems. A true-crime turned into a novel. In June 2018, a stranded yacht is discovered in international waters, engulfed in flames. There's no trace of its crew, the Vila Monson�s -a well-known couple of lawyers from Fotheringale- nor of the boat's captain. From that moment on, all hypotheses are open regarding what might have happened on the high seas. There are no witnesses. The case generates significant media attention due to the prominence of the individuals involved and their connections to the business and political world of that remote tax haven. Gradually, we will come to know the development of the investigation from three perspectives: a true-crime genre documentary film about the events, the manuscript of a thriller signed under a pseudonym by someone very close to the family, and the testimony of Ram�n Santolaya, a Spanish writer and diplomat whom the president of the Republic of Fotheringale trusts to uncover what really happened to his friends.
