Overview

In January 2017, Clara Tan leaves Singapore for Chiang Mai to work as a Field Coordinator in a malaria program. She expects field roads, difficult work, and the loneliness of building a life far from home. She does not expect Kasper Lund. A Danish doctor on holiday, Kasper enters Clara's life by accident in a Bangkok street market through mango sticky rice, bad chili judgment, and one conversation that lingers too long. What begins as a brief encounter becomes years of messages, return visits, airport goodbyes, and love stretched across Thailand and Denmark. As Clara builds a meaningful life in Chiang Mai and Kasper remains tied to his hospital work in Copenhagen, their relationship moves from almost, to maybe, to properly but never easily. When 2020 closes the world and takes away the next ticket, Clara must ask whether love can survive when waiting has become the relationship itself.
