Februar 1918 in New York City, New York) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Fotograf. Allan Arbus war zun chst als Fotograf in New York City t tig. Dort betrieb er ab 1946 ein Werbefotostudio mit seiner Frau Diane Nemerov, die er 1941 geheiratet hatte und mit der er zwei Kinder hatte. Die beiden hatten sich kennengelernt, als Arbus im Bekleidungsgesch ft von Dianes Vater arbeitete. Durch ihn kam Diane zur Fotografie, Allan Arbus selbst hatte das Fotografieren w hrend des Kriegsdienstes erlernt. 1959 wurde die Ehe geschieden, Diane machte Karriere als Fotografin, w hrend sich Allan dem Schauspiel zuwandte. 1961 hatte er seine erste Rolle des Doktors in dem Musicalfilm Hey, Let's Twist.
