Author Information

Sue Sharpe is a Consultant Researcher at Timescapes School of Sociology and Social Policy, University of Leeds. She has published several books on her research interests, which include the lives and experiences of young people, gender issues and family relationships. Rachel Thomson, a sociologist by discipline, worked for the National Children's Bureau (1990-96). Her research interests include the study of the life course and transitions, as well as the interdisciplinary fields of gender and sexuality studies. She has a track record in developing innovative methodologies for the exploration of lived experience and social processes, including ways of understanding the interplay between biographical and historical time.
