Overview

Much has been said recently about why we should or should not be involved in relief work, and about what is wrong with missions and development today. The daily news is full of fresh reports of conflict across cultural lines. All to All is a practical guide to those working in or wishing to work in a cross cultural context. Drawing from many years of experience, and a whole bunch of mistakes, the other uses stories to make simple points that can help all of us get along better.

Author Information

Brian McKeon has more than twenty years experience in responding to disasters and working in cross cultural situations. He has been in more than forty countries, and also worked in multiple parts of the US. Born and raised in a log cabin in Upstate New York, McKeon received a BA in History and Missions from Covenant College. By the time he graduated he had already been involved in international relief work, missions, HIV/AIDS support work, fire fighting, and urban ministry. In the twenty years since, he has continued to add to those experiences, working as a missionary, lumberjack, teacher, coach, children's and youth ministry leader, and eventually ending up starting R3 International in 2008 to continue doing disaster and international response work. His wife is Kenyan, but teaches school in an urban school in the US. They have two daughters, and split their time between Chattanooga TN and Nairobi, Kenya.
