All the Tea in China

Overview

Indiana Jones meets Shōgun in All the Tea in China, a searing historical adventure full of treasure, epic thrills, and a ruthless pirate queen ... The Duke of Devonshire has given Major William Gunn one last chance to save his daughter's life. All William needs to do is the impossible. He must travel to China--where merely setting foot on shore is a death sentence for a European--then find a way to break into the impenetrable Forbidden City and steal tea from the Dragon Throne itself. American frontiersman Nathanial Bidwell would never let William face this perilous journey alone. He owes his friend a life debt, which he hopes to finally repay. But just after glimpsing China's shores, their mission takes an unexpected turn, and they find themselves ensnared in a conspiracy to overthrow the emperor. Their only hope lies in finding an ancient treasure--and in order to do so they must form an uneasy alliance with the notorious and formidable pirate queen, Lin Mai. To recover the treasure, the unlikely trio must learn to work together to capture and sail the fastest ship on earth--or risk being intercepted by their enemies' combined forces. With an entire civilization in the balance, William, Nate, and Mai must decide: Are they in it for love, money, or All the Tea in China?

Reviews

""All the Tea in China should be a theme park ride. Timothy David Mack's second novel launches at breakneck speed and dares you to hold on. I was whisked from the jungles of South America to the palaces of Imperial China, surviving a kidnapping, a pirate mutiny, and a fort collapsing under a barrage of cannon fire--all before part two. This is a novel that refuses to be put down and stays with you long after the last page. I was completely swept away--I can't recommend it highly enough."" -- ""Maxine Paetro, #1 New York Times bestselling author"" ""American frontiersman Nathanial Bidwell and British Major William Gunn span the globe once again in this thrilling historical novel. All the world's a stage for their incredible adventures, shared with Lin Mai, a redoubtable Chinese pirate queen. Their goal? Simply to steal tea. From the emperor of China. So brew up a pot of oolong and settle in for a terrific read!"" -- ""James R. Benn, USA Today bestselling author of A Bitter Wind and other Billy Boyle WWII mysteries"" ""Once again Mack delivers an adventure seamlessly folded into the Age of Discovery, this time catapulting Nate Bidwell and William Gunn from the jungles of South America to the enigmatic Chinese empire, where tea is both the most coveted prize and the deadliest lure. Hats off to TDM for weaving another fantastic yarn."" -- ""Brian O'Neill, author of City of Destiny""
