Overview

Award winning author Ann MacDonald shares funny, touching stories about growing up during the second World War, as she matures from a carefree nine-year-old into a tougher and wiser teenager. Ann sets off on her scooter every week to fetch a fresh bunch of poppies for her mother. Mrs Harris comes to clean, relieving Ann from her dusting duties and providing tantalising gossip about her other ladies.
