OverviewMartin was standing in a field in Maryland, just north of the DC line, and he was pointing his gun at Charlie Viese's crotch, and trying to reason with him. Martin's life might have been described as uneventful, then it changed he met Eliana and it became eventful. Martin is a Cop in the DC Barrio. The Barrios were set up more than ten years ago to sort which Latinos were to be deported and which were to stay. There was no sorting and the barrios remained and prospered as the rest of the country withered. In the foreign papers they call the Barrios concentration camps. It makes it sound like Martin works in Auschwitz. The Barrios are fun and beautiful and full of life. Martin likes the barrios. It's the rest of the world that's the problem.
