Martin Krake was born in 1970 in Kassel, Germany. His experiences with artistic photography began when he was only 12 years old; initially he photographed landscapes and later artistic still lifes. In 1989, shortly after high school graduation, he began his exploration of nude photography. For a long time it was only a hobby while he studied Art History and German. Slowly in the mid-nineties photography grew into his profession. During this time he developed a sense of personal style in his work, and the use of nature as a backdrop for his photography began to play an increasingly important roll. Martin has been working as a professional photo-grapher since 1999. In 2003 he left his hometown of Kassel and has since been living in the Austrian capital city of Vienna. For his shoots he organizes numerous yearly trips to different Southern European countries. His favorite locations include the Southern Provinces of France, the island of Sardinia in the Mediterranean, and the Croatian islands on the Adrian Sea.
