OverviewOn June 16, 1969, a young woman named Sherry Easley was brutally murdered. Recently divorced, she was locked in a custody battle with her ex-husband, Jerry, over custody of their three-year-old son, Jon. Although Jerry was a suspect, his alibi put him in the clear. After her death Jon was raised by Jerry and Sharon, the woman responsible for breaking up Jerry's marriage. Fast-forward to 1985 when a motor home was found burned in Texas and Sharon was reported missing. Human remains, which turned out to be Sharon's, were found in the Arizona desert where she was last seen. Jerry, who had spent the intervening years running a shady car repair shop, was again under suspicion. For a second time, there was no evidence linking him to the crime. By this time Jon was in college, and his roommate Danny knew a great deal about Jerry and his illegal activities at the repair shop. Jerry and a confederate attempted to kidnap Danny, but the plan was unsuccessful. After the kidnapping, a tenacious Houston PD Detective, along with Jon's assistance, pieced together Jon's father's guilt and helped the police arrest and convict him. In All His Enemies, Nelson J. Zoch has rendered a true story with chilling realism and detail, creating a compelling tale about family ties, truth, deception, and justice. Zoch is well qualified to write about police procedure and murder. Working closely with the detectives who investigated the murders of Sherry and Sharon Easley, as well as the officer who worked the aborted kidnapping of Jon Easley's college roommate, he has traced the elements of a true story that is far more fascinating than many crime novels. In the tradition of Truman Capote's In Cold Blood, Zoch has brought a nonfiction tale to fascinating life. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
