ALIEN TRUCKER is an intriguing take on a quest story, one forcing a capable but ""green"" hybrid-alien down into the driver's seat of a classic Peterbilt tractor. (It's a tractor with a coffin sleeper, no less!) He's been trained on the gears in orbit, taught on a simulator by an abducted long-haul man, and so he's ready for his mission! (But not ready in every detail, as his Pleaidian masters soon discover.) His overlords are in a tough spot, lacking sufficient fuel to get home and growing weary of Earth orbit. Our blonde, green-eyed hybrid ""hero"" figures big in their latest, desperate plan to get the goods to take them home. Unknowingly, their plan to send him down here ""under the radar"" will only put HIM at great risk--and end in failure for THEM that's spectacular. In quick fashion our Trucker (for that is the name he gives himself) has STRANGE encounters with figures out of the American Southwest. Are these figures he meets real people? Or are they spiritual beings pulling toward him deliberately, called forth to watch his every move and eventually...to foil his quest? The ""real"" people in this book are few and are supporting characters. We must look to entities other than ""real"" for the beings who either ride shotgun in the red Peterbilt, or else tell him which way he should go. If they are LEGENDS, they are driving with Trucker on REAL roads and visiting REAL places. They are legends that smoke, that eat, that spin yarn, that run races. From Area 51 to the Zuni ""Dance Hall of the Dead,"" our Trucker's search for a compound to make element 115 solid is complicated by them all.
