Nolan Everett, a reclusive former search-and-rescue operator, lives alone in a remote mountain cabin, struggling with trauma from his past and the isolation of brutal winter storms. My name is Terre Porter. I am a writer, among other things. I have written many stories over the years but never published any as I didn't feel they were good enough until now. I am a web developer as a job right now, but who knows? If I can keep creating stories maybe that will be my new profession in the future.I love music, the creative process, food-of course-and science fiction and fantasy. Movies both action and romance. I don't read as much as I used to, but I loved a good adventure. I enjoy creating the story. The process is exciting to me. Taking an idea and making it into something feels awesome.I got started writing by accident. My wife at the time got sick, and she had trouble falling asleep. She asked me to tell her a story. So, I did. I made up a story about a young man and a dragon and the adventures they had. This went on for several months, and she told me to write it down.Now, of course, I didn't remember most of the story at this point. But I started a new one, something mystical with fairies. I would write a chapter and then read it to her that night. She was a critic, of course, but all done out of love. She helped me refine the story and fix any issues.I was never able to finish that story as she passed away only a few chapters in. But I remember her telling me to keep writing and one day publish a book in her honor. So, that is what this site is for. My first book has been, or will be shortly, published on Amazon.
