"""Reading Ali Hoops reminded me of the lessons I got to learn about myself and life, because I played a variety of sports growing up. Her courage to face adversity head on is something we can all learn from no matter what field we pursue. She's an inspiration to all ages."" -Cassie Campbell-Pascall - 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Captain of Team Canada Women's Hockey ""Ali Hoops is an inspiration! I have been surrounded by so many great teammates in my hockey career, and in my sports broadcasting career. Every person plays a different role, but each role is tremendously important. Ali Hoops reminds us of the value that each person brings!"" Jennifer Botterill - 3 time Olympic Gold Medalist and studio analyst for Sportsnet and Hockey Night in Canada"

The narrative beautifully conveyed the powerful message that sports is for everyone. The adaptability, teamwork and creativity showcased in the story deliver an inspiring message for both kids and adults alike."" - Kim Gaucher, 3x Olympic appearances with Team Canada, 1st round draft pick in the 2006 WNBA"

I believe the girls came off as authentic and I especially love how enthusiastic Ali was. The plays were pretty accurate. I found them to be explained well and I understood what they were saying. In some cases, coaches will have assistants help them keep track of gear and in team drills, keep track of team's score as a whole instead of individual players. However, there are times where there is some friendly competition where individuals have their points kept track of. So, the short answer is yes in a lot of instances. I think young girls will, and as a kid who was just getting into basketball, I think I would have been interested in this book. I think it's important for young kids to understand that they aren't useless even if they don't play.
