Reviews

Alexandria and the North-Western Delta, offers a taste of the diverse maritime and terrestrial fieldwork conducted in and around this ancient city. From port development and ancient cults to trade and geography, the wealth of topics is engaging.' -- Veronica Moriss, Texas A&M University Nautical Research Journal 56:4 December 2011 The book is well written and nicely illustrated with both colour plates and detailed illustrations, and is easy to follow. The editors are to be complimented on the presentation of the material in a clear, well-ordered fashion with no glaring omissions or mistakes.[...]...this volume succeeds in presenting an image of the Northwestern Delta as a melting pot of cultures and peoples that was both vibrant and active and should prove to be a useful work for both students and researchers.' -- R. Scott Moore, Indiana University of PA International Journal of Maritime History December 2011
