On a work trip to the Italian Piedmont region for her travel magazine, Melina is still reeling from a recent breakup with Henk, her longtime boyfriend back home in the Netherlands. Between reporting on the delicious holiday food, wine, and hoopla in culinary hotspots like Torino and Alba, she's supposed to be there to sort out her feelings and decide what to do next. Instead, she keeps crossing paths with Andre, a sexy, guitar-playing, traveling American. Andre's moonlit serenades aren't helping to make things any clearer. One holiday, a misunderstanding or two, and a lot of laughs later, Melina must decide: is this holiday romance with Andre just the detour she needs or a sign she's not quite over Henk? Even though each book can very easily be read as a stand alone, they are always much better when enjoyed as part of the whole series. Alba Home For Christmas is a wonderful Christmas In July festive rom-com and had a gorgeous Italian setting. It features a sexy, guitar playing American, was very charming and lighthearted, was full of festive fun, friends-to-lovers, second chances, a slow burn and unexpected romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful festive story and I will definitely be coming back for more..... --BookBub Review (5 stars) The Perfect Blend of Italian Charm and Personal Growth This was a very well-written novella that uses a charming Italian holiday setting to tell a surprisingly deep story. While marketed as a romantic comedy, I actually found it leaned more toward self-discovery than a typical romance, which was a refreshing change of pace. The author, Leau Macy, does a great job making you feel like you're right there with Melina in the Italian Piedmont region, enjoying the food, wine, and atmosphere. Melina's journey to sort out her feelings after a breakup is relatable and engaging. The ending was not what I expected, but in a way that felt authentic to Melina's personal growth and journey. If you're looking for an escapist rom-com with a focus on a character finding herself, I highly recommend this read! --Amazon Review (4 Stars) Love a good Christmas story! This novella was a delightful read - a sweet escape with just the right touch of whimsy. I especially enjoyed the adventure to Italy; it brought a charming, almost cinematic quality to the story that made it easy to get lost in the setting. While I found myself wishing for a bit more depth in the character development, the overall tone and pacing were satisfying for a shorter work. One moment that really stuck with me was this quote: ""...laughs, and the sound of it, the ease of it is like a kind of comfort food."" It perfectly captured the warmth and connection between the characters, and it lingered with me long after I turned the last page. A cozy, whimsical read - perfect for a weekend afternoon. --Goodreads Review (3 stars) Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
